What is a Health and Safety Inspection?
Most child care providers offer safe and healthy environments. Health and safety inspections and investigations are a normal part of child care in Idaho. Inspections are not intended to "catch" anyone doing something wrong. Inspections help ensure the safety of children and staff, support staff in following requirements by finding concerns, and promote continuous improvement.
Idaho began publishing the results of health and safety inspections October 2017. Inspections are published as they are conducted and maintained on this site for at least three years.

All arts and crafts materials used in the facility shall be non-toxic. Poisonous or potentially harmful plants on the premises shall be inaccessible to children.

At the time of inspection, cleaning products and aerosols were accessible to children under bathroom sink.

At the time of inspection, there was trash along fence line that needed to be cleaned. Swing set was not secure. There is a broken pipe, and the garage was unlocked with rodent feces inside.

Children were unattended and one child left the facility, opening the gate, and leaving out the front door. The door alarm was disabled at the time, so staff were unaware that the child left. The child was found on the street in front of the facility.
Corrected: Provider took steps to ensure that this cannot happen again. Front door handle was replaced and moved to a higher spot on the door so that children cannot reach it. The gate that is located at the entrance to the playroom was replaced with a higher metal gate which is screwed to the door frame permanently. A video security system was installed so that the provider can monitor children at all times. A procedure was written for supervision and was discussed with staff.
